EF Initiative Recycling Program

November 2007 NAPCO is proud to introduce our EF Initiative Recycling Program. As a pilot or trial, we intend to begin collecting cardboard from some of our customers in the coming weeks. While we are not able to cite specific studies or data, we feel that cardboard is one of the bulkiest yet most readily recyclable materials introduced into our waste stream. For the pilot program, our target is primarily existing customers either within a close proximity to our facility or near the end of our standard routes. These target customers will also be on the light to moderate scale of volume and will likely have minimal space that would not allow for a dedicated commercial collection container. From our Paper Distributor of the Future page, you may have noticed that we are starting with a “Think big, but start small” mindset. The pilot is intended to help us identify and address obstacles as well as realize the additional costs that will be associated with providing this service. The NAPCO team is accustomed to finding solutions for problems and is committed to making this program work. In regards to the costs associated with the service, we feel that we have a fair solution and will use the pilot accounts to gather real data and input to address these expenses. It is our goal to grow this program in both items collected and area covered. Our hopes are that our pilot program will lay the groundwork for the expansion by identifying the products that we need to focus on and developing a routing schedule to offer the most reliable service to our customers.
